A Bakery Fit For Every Generation
Nestled in the heart of South Park, our artisanal bakery and cafe is a testament to the artistry of Chef Charlie, the culinary genius behind our unique creations. From show-stopping pastries to Grandma’s-style biscuits, each treat is handmade with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.
Chef Charlie started as the head chef at Lady Jaye, our restaurant and smokehouse in Seattle. While he remains Lady Jaye’s commander-in-chief, he is also the brains of Little Jaye. His culinary experience is unmatched and he is never satisfied with mediocrity. Charlie is a researcher. When he wants to do something, he does it. If he doesn’t know how, then he’ll analyze articles, head to the kitchen, and experiment with different ingredients until he figures it out.
And that’s what started Little Jaye.
If you were up at 2:45 on a Sunday morning and happened to walk by Lady Jaye, the lights would be on, the ovens fired up, and Charlie would be feverishly baking hundreds of cookies, biscuits, and donuts ready to sell fresh at 10 a.m. Selling baked goods on Sunday out of Lady Jaye was just an insane but brilliant enough idea for us to try.
For the next six months, Charlie stood crammed in our smokehouse kitchen, relying on two little ovens to pump out enough sweet treats to feed West Seattle. His standard for the highest-quality food was, and still is, amazing. And so was the response from the public.
We knew we had something.
With Charlie at the helm, Little Jaye was born. Our pop-up experiment was a massive success, so we opened a separate bakery. We expanded what we offer and made Little Jaye Seattle’s go-to spot. We offer a variety of pastries including donuts, Rice Krispie treats, large cookies (with 8 to 10 different flavors at any given time), sweet and savory biscuits, and our take on a Japanese staple called Shokupan.
With our butcher shop, LJ Meats, right around the corner, we created a line of fresh and delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches, using LJ’s signature and elite cuts of meat.
And since we know people love a morning boost, our beverage connoisseur, Sarah, utilized her mixologist background and turned ordinary coffees into the creative and ingenious combo’s you see on our menu today.
This all started with one chef’s passion and two small ovens. Now, we are a charming and fun bakery in West Seattle. When you step into Little Jaye, you’ll experience tradition and innovation, nostalgia and progress, but most importantly, delicious, fresh food made with some serious TLC every single day.
Welcome to Little Jaye. A taste of home, no matter where you’re from.
